9th District Counties Adopt Supportive Resolution for US Representative Tom Graves
From Hall, Union, and White Counties:
A RESOLUTION [might vary slightly from county to county]
Expressing appreciation to 9th District Congressman Tom Graves.
WHEREAS, 9th District Congressman Tom Graves voted against raising the U.S. debt ceiling;
WHEREAS, Congressman Graves is standing firm on a series of polices this nation must put in place to put our financial house in order;
WHEREAS, Congressman Graves continues to fight the administration's polices that in effect punish people who succeed at work, investing, and creating jobs, thereby giving them ample reason not to create jobs;
WHEREAS, these administration policies also stifle innovation and gains in productivity, vital to keeping America at the forefront of advanced manufacturing; medicine; aerospace; biotech, the digital and other industries; and
WHEREAS, Congressman Graves pursues free-market policies as correctives to the administration’s job-killing, liberty-destroying approaches.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ________ COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY, that we thank Congressman Graves for his vote against raising the U.S. debt ceiling;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we appreciate Congressman Graves' leadership on the many issues surrounding incentives and disincentives to create jobs;
BE IT ALSO FURTHER RESOLVED, that we thank him for his firm and principled stands on the tangle of questions about the proper relationship between the states and the government in Washington;
AND BE IT ALSO FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Secretary of the ________ County Republican Party is directed to deliver within four days of this meeting a copy of this resolution to each of the following: House Majority Leader John Boehner, Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl, Governor Nathan Deal, Georgia Republican Party Chair Sue Everhart, and Ninth District Republican Party Chair Andrew Turnage.
This Resolution adopted August __, 2011, by the Executive Committee of the ________ County Republican Party at its regular monthly meeting and attested to by the undersigned.

Whereas Tom Graves has exhibited integrity in the Georgia House by voting his conscience and not bowing to extreme pressure brought to bear by the House Speaker and then continuing to serve well as adverse consequences unfolded and
Whereas Tom Graves served as an author of 2011 H. R. 127, A Bill to Defund Obamacare, intending to restore fiscal integrity to our country and
Whereas Tom Graves authored the 2011 Transportation Empowerment Act and
Whereas Tom Graves twice initiated the Georgia Jobs and Opportunity Act and
Whereas Tom Graves was recognized as Georgia Trend’s “ 40 Influential under 40” in 2009 and
Whereas Tom Graves was an author of the Hardships Outlays to Protect Mortgage Equity Act of 2011 and
Whereas Tom Graves received Club Growth’s 2010 Defender of Freedom Award
Now therefore, be it resolved, based on the foregoing and on numerous other exceptional accomplishments, the 9th District Committee is proud of Congressman Tom Graves and salute the engrained principles that inform his actions and decisions. As the most conservative congressional district the the United States, we acknowledge our excellent US House Representative Tom Graves.
