1. REPORT ON NEW YORK CONVENTIONIt was an honor and privilege to represent the Tenth District at the National Convention in New York City as an alternate delegate. There's really only one word to describe the experience - WOW!The energy and enthusiasm of the convention body was a living, moving entity. One could feel the electricity in the air. The speakers all stayed on message - FOUR MORE YEARS. While that may not have been the topic of their speech, that was the message that came across.Despite my having a few qualms about the predicted actions of protesters, I want to assure you the NYPD was totally awesome. I have nothing but good words to say about them, they were there in abundance and I even felt safe riding the subway, which I did several times. And every person I met from New York was very cordial. One lady came up to me in a deli and said that while she disagreed with my choice of candidate, she wanted me to know that we were welcome in HER city and wished all those out of town protesters would go home. And of course, no trip to New York would be complete without seeing plays and sight seeing. I attended another convention from Tuesday to Friday before our convention and went to see The Phantom of the Opera. Some friends and I had dinner one night at the Tavern on the Green and walked over to the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. As a former contractor, I was enthralled with the details on the older buildings. It's a shame that the buildings of today are so stark and sterile.
On Tuesday, members from the Georgia delegation were joined by members from the Nevada and Texas delegations at a park in New Jersey where we walked the grounds picking up paper, plastic and other man-made materials. A water heater and tire were two of the most unusual items picked up off the river bank.Outside the normal convention activities on which Bettye reported so magnificently, Doug and I attended the taping of the David Letterman Show the night John McCain was the guest. We also went to Liberty Island, Ellis Island and the Empire State Building.
Again, thank you for allowing me to attend. I will cherish the memories forever.Judy Grammer,Chairman Tenth District GOP_____________________________________________________________
2. Delegates, Alternates and Guests from the 10th District
The 10th District had eight delegates and alternates attending the recent convention. Denise Clopton was unable to attend. We also had one page attending - Brad Scott. There were several guests from the 10th. The ones that we are aware of are: Jill Pearson, Sharon Shamp, Marty Clark, and Angie Payne. Many thanks to all of these who made the trip and represented the 10th District.

6. National Convention Watch Party for the
President - September 2, 2004 - Locos in Gainesville
The only report which we have received as of today is the one from Wesley Clark and Bettye Chambers, Co-Chairmen for the Hall for Bush/Cheney Campaign. This one was held at Locos Deli and Pub in Gainesville. J.D. Mealor and John Prien did a great job of handling this one since Wesley and Bettye were in New York at the Convention on that night. Click here to view web page with photos on this gala event. . .
Please send us a report on your Parties for the President on September 2.
