Winner of the A. A. Richardson Volunteer of the Year Award

At the GA GOP State Convention in Columbus on May 17, 2008, Chairman Sue Everhart announced the winner of the GA GOP A. A. Richardson Volunteer of the Year Award to be Bettye Chambers of Hall County and the 9th District.

The A.A. Richardson Volunteer of the Year award is named for Rich Richardson (Rick's father -Willie's husband) who was a stalwart in the DeKalb party for many years.  He died several years ago in a tragic accident. 

This award is given to the Republican volunteer who has worked tirelessly for the party and has gone above and beyond the call of duty. The A.A. Richardson Award  is the highest volunteer award given by the GA GOP

Chairman Everhart announced that Chambers would  be going to the GOP National Convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul in September.  She will once again be creating daily photo web pages of events behind the scenes for the GA GOP delegation. These will be e-mailed back to Republicans in Georgia each day during the convention.  She did this in 2004 In New York City at the GOP National Convention. Chairman Everhart noted that Chambers has spent countless hours creating and updating many Republican websites in Georgia. as well as e-mailing Republican news across the state. She has worked at the county, district and state level of Republican organizations.  She also serves on the National Federation of Republican women's Board of Directors.

Chambers is a retired Business Ed and Computer Teacher and taught for many years at the high school and college level in Florida and in DeKalb County, Georgia.
