Please take a took at the home page of our web site since there are quite a few recent updates. There are a number of new political cartoons on the Cartoon page.  Be sure to see the new one about our least favorite son -- Jimmy Carter.
Judy Grammer sent us some great photos of the President's visit to Atlanta. She and Blake Collins, Chairman of Fannin County, were privileged to sit on the stage for the appearance by   President George W. Bush, who was accompanied by his mother, Barbara Bush. Several other Tenth District  members also attended. Hall County had a number of people attending. Republican Women's Convention and Election
All of  our women who belong to Republican Women's clubs will be interested to read about Beverly Davis of Utah, nominee for the next President of the National Federation of Republican Women. The election will take place at the NFRW National Convention at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville on September 8 - 11. Beverly was the unanimous choice of the Nominating Committee. However, someone will be running against her from the floor of the convention. I have built a  campaign web site for Beverly who is a good friend of mine. It has been my pleasure to know Beverly since 1998, and I am confident that she will be a great leader for the Republican women across this nation. She has served effectively on the Executive Committee of NFRW for six years and has traveled extensively across the country to work with Republican Women's Clubs.

Tenth District members, Reva Jennings of Cumming and Bettye Chambers of Buford, were elected delegates at large from Georgia and will be attending the convention.
 
10th District Annual Picnic at Jasper
Don't forget our picnic at Jasper this Saturday. District Committee meeting  will be at 10:30 A.M. inside the Pickens County Chamber of  Commerce Building at the park entrance. (This year there will be indoor plumbing, air conditioning and a roof over our heads!) At 12 Noon the picnic will be served indoors due to uncertain weather; however, there will be tables on the patio and also in the park weather permitting. Political speeches to follow lunch. Please note the very impressive list of speakers on the web site. Oscar Poole will again provide his wonderful Bar-B-Q.

Prices are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for kids and no charge for kids 6 and younger. Music by two great bands: Truett Moss Country T Band and Bert's Band. Read more at the top of our home page. If you are attending and have not already done so, please e-mail Gus Pries at  Priesgus@cs.com to let him know how many will be attending in your party.

Ms. Miller Goes to Washington!
Many of you know Kathie Miller who was in the 9th and then 10th district for years. She has recently accepted a position in Senator Johnny Isakson's office in Washington, D.C. where she will be Director of Constituent Services. Read more on the home page of our web site. Congratulations, Kathie!

Fair Tax Book
Do you have your Fair Tax Book yet?  It came out today, August 2, and my pre-ordered copy arrived.  It is great and answers so many questions.  It was front and center at Border's Book Store this afternoon. Neal Boortz and Congressman John Linder have started their tour to promote the book and to generate interest in the passage of HR Bill 25.
