►New Web Site Header and Page www.gagop10.org
If you have not visited our web site recently, you will find a new look with the new header and name at the top of each page. Since the 9th District has the most beautiful country side in the state, we have tried to include a few photos which highlight some of nature's grandeur in North Georgia within our district.
There is also a new page entitled "About the Ninth District" to acquaint the viewers with each of the 15 counties in this district. There are quite a few new items at the top of the Home page and also on the Cartoon page.

► Lumpkln County
Hi Bettye,
Thanks for the purple finger web site. I am the chairman of the Lumpkin County Republican Party and I went out and purchased a purple stamp pad. I then emailed all our members and let them know if they wanted to stop by my workplace, they could get their finger stamped purple. I believe strongly in what President Bush is doing, and although we didn't find the WMD, we did something better. We freed people from a government that was totally evil. If he didn't have the WMD's, he would have eventually had them and used them, if we hadn't stopped him. Then everyone would have complained that we didn't stop him when we had a chance. It's a "no win" situation when liberals are involved. Thanks again,Mary Russo, Chairman
Lumpkin County Republican party

Representatives James Mills, Carl Rogers, Stacey Reece and Senator Casey Cagle indicated these issues will be priority again this year when the General Assembly convenes Jan 9th in Atlanta.
The lawmakers agreed, the chief factors in driving up these costs are fraud, abuse and illegal immigrants. Representative James Mills said, “We are building entire schools for illegal immigrants.” Representative Reece indicated, “Medicaid costs have risen sharply due to illegal immigrant use”

PICKENS GOP HOLDS SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISER
PLANS FOR 2006 UNVEILED
The Pickens County Republican Party held a very successful event on November 16 in Big Canoe. The event was held to honor President Bush and to raise money to help elect Georgia Republicans in 2006.
Bill and Susan Gibson hosted the gathering in their lovely home they have named "The Thistle Stop". Their home features a model railroad which is a topographically correct presentation of the line between Blue Ridge and Vinings to include the quarry at Tate.
Over 70 guests were welcomed to the party by a life-size figure of President Bush and dedicated supporters including a group of women who are proud to call themselves "George's Girls".

The relaxed evening featured train games, wine tasting and hors d' oeuvres prepared and served by "Georges Girls". The dulcimer music of Brenda Bedingfield entertained the guests throughout the evening.
Everyone had a wonderful time, and all signed a Christmas Card to be sent to President Bush and our gracious First Lady. Over $1,500.00 was received in donations and contributions as well as requests for membership applications are still being received".
Lurline Argo, local GOP chairman, noted that starting in January the organization will be hosting a series of candidate forums which the public is invited to attend and fully participate in. The forums will feature presentations by Republican candidates, seeking state-wide offices, who face primary opposition. Presentations will be made in January by Gary Black Agriculture Commissioner) and Perry McGuire (Attorney General); in March by Deanna Strickland (Agriculture Commissioner) and Karen Handel (Secretary of State); in April by Ralph Reed (Lt. Governor) and Senator Brian Kemp (Agriculture Commissioner) and in May by Senator Casey Cagle who is vying for the GOP nomination for Lt. Governor.
Meetings are conducted the third Thursday of the month. Mrs. Argo invites all Republicans who are interested in join the GOP election year effort to contact her at 706-692-1193 or via e-mail at

The report from the President's Tax Panel is totally unacceptable. Let your Congressmen and the White House know how you feel about this issue. The panel's suggestions will be even worse than what we have now with the IRS!
If you go to www.fairtax.org and check the Scorecards page, you will find that all Georgia Republican members of Congress have signed on as supporting the bill -- except one.
