Message from 10th District Chairman, Judy Grammer
If you weren't in attendance at the REAL Grassroots Summit, you really missed a good presentation. And one couldn't beat the cost. Nothing is less expensive than FREE.Just in case you did not get this email from Paul, I wanted it to get into everyone's hands. Remember, your county will not have access to Voter Vault until someone from your county has been trained in its use. I will let you know when those additional training sessions have been scheduled. Please visit our website, www.gagop10.org for a pretty detailed account of the weekend.FYI, we have not received a decision yet from the Department of Justice on the redistricting maps submitted to them for their approval. If you have any questions or need any assistance on anything, please let me know.
Message from Paul Bennecke (GA GOP E.D.)September 26, 2005
Dear County Chair/State Committee Member,I
want to thank everyone who attended the R.E.A.L. Grassroots Summit this weekend in Athens. I have heard from many people who attended, and overall, the feedback has been very positive.Believe it or not, we are already scheduling the next R.E.A.L. Grassroots Summit for 2006 on August 18-19. Location TBA.
August 18-19 is the first weekend after our primary run-off, so we will celebrate and rally behind all of our Party’s statewide nominees, review and plan for the last two months of the election, and have a material distribution center on location for each county to get yard signs, push cards, postcards, bumper stickers, phone/walking list assistance, and statewide candidate materials.
So please mark your calendars for August 18-19, 2006 for the best R.E.A.L. Grassroots Summit yet!!
For those counties who missed the Voter Vault training, Marty Klein will be hosting two Voter Vault training sessions for you.
If you are interested in attending or sending someone on behalf of your county or district, please contact Marty Klein at mklein@gagop.org. He will be announcing the dates and locations in the near future. It will be by reservation only.
Finally, if you would like a copy of any of the presentations from this past weekend, please contact Rebecca Greener at rgreener@gagop.org or 404-260-5941 ext. 226. She will be happy to email or fax any handouts to you.
If you have any input or suggestions for next year’s summit, feel free to contact Rebecca and let her know how we can improve or what needs you have in your county that we can address at a training session.
Thank you again to everyone who participated and made this first R.E.A.L. Grassroots Summit a success.
All my best,
Paul Bennecke

Rumor has it that the first volunteer to be highlighted will be from the 10th District. More on this later on www.gagop.org

Fair Tax (National Sales Tax)
Do you have your Fair Tax Book yet? It came out on August 2, and has been #1 on the NY Times Best Seller list and is still up there in the top 50. It is great and answers so many questions. Keep The FairTax Momentum Going . Congressman Linder said recently that the extreme popularity of the Fair Tax Book written by Neal Boortz and Congressman John Linder really got the attention of the House and Senate members. This tells them that Americans are very interested in this type of tax reform. Read the latest update from Boortz on Wednesday, September 28 -- the Lobbyist are Stirring!
This is without a doubt the most exciting piece of legislation to come along in my life time. It could solve so many of our problems and would definitely grow our economy. Many businesses which have moved off shore to avoid heavy taxes by the IRS would move back along with many other foreign counties who have by-passed setting up in this country. Illegals would also be paying taxes to help pay "there fair share" for a change!
If you have not already done so, please go to www.fairtax.org and sign up to become a volunteer and receive their e-mails. If you click on "Scorecards", you quickly find out which of our Congressmen have signed on to the bill, those who are undecided, those against, and those leaning in favor. Needless to say, we need to contact those who have not signed on and encourage them to support this bill. All of our Republican members of Congress from Georgia have signed up to support the bill. Of course, Democrats Cynthia McKinney, John Lewis, and John Barrow are against (Surprise!) with David Scott listed as "will not commit".
While at the NFRW National Convention at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville in early September, my husband and I spent time working in the Fair Tax booth in the vendors area. It was exciting to see so many Republican women from across the country interested in the passage of the Fair Tax Bill HR 25. Let's keep the interest going!
