Dear Friends,
This past weekend, Republicans from all over the great state of Georgia came together in Savannah for an extremely successful Georgia Republican Party State Convention. Leaders from Georgia and all of over the country spoke to a energetic and enthusiastic crowd of 2,000 hard working Republicans who are committed to working towards a common purpose: Victory in 2010.
Thank you very much for your support in re-electing me State Chairman.
Thank you to our great home-grown speakers, including Herman Cain and our top elected officials.
I would also like to thank our out-of-state guest speakers, RNC Chairman Michael Steele and the Honorable J.C. Watts, for taking the time to address our State Convention. We were also honored to host Florida National Committeeman Paul Senft and Arkansas National Committeewoman Rita Hamilton in Savannah. We thank them for their support to the Georgia Republican Party.
This State Convention was an exciting time and great opportunity to prepare for a winning 2010 election cycle for Republicans. We put in place the grassroots leadership that will be responsible for leading us to victory in 2010 and ensured that we are united and committed to that goal.
With such a crucial election year coming up, we must renew our commitment to common sense conservative values and keep the momentum going to re-elect US Senator Johnny Isakson, continue to build on our Republican majorities in the Georgia General Assembly and Congressional Delegation, add more Republicans to our Constitutional Offices and make sure the next Governor of Georgia is proudly representing the GOP.
But make no mistake, the Democrats are going to give us a fight. They do not share our vision for Georgia or America’s future. They want to raise taxes, enact a government takeover of our healthcare system and other private enterprises, and retreat from the War on Terror. They are voting against our troops and for growing government bureaucracy, funded by higher taxes on you and me.
This is not the leadership that Georgia and America needs.
That’s why we must work harder than ever this year. I am blessed to be Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party because I have the honor to work with the best grassroots team in the nation. The grassroots of Georgia are the most devoted team of volunteers who tirelessly work across the state to send great Republican leaders to represent us under the Gold Dome and in Washington. These leaders fight every day for us. They stand up against the liberal agenda and make sure our Conservative voices are heard.
We took our time in Savannah to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of our Party, but we also looked to the future. With your support, I have no doubt that the Georgia Republican Party will continue to see our past successes grow. Georgia has continued to be a bright spot against a difficult national climate for Republicans and the grassroots of Georgia are definitely proud to lead the charge.
I would like to thank the city of Savannah, the Chatham County GOP, and everyone involved for making this year’s Convention such a success.
Thank you for all you have done, everything you have sacrificed and all the future work you will do on behalf of this Party for which we care so deeply.
Thank you for the honor and trust you have given me to serve as your Chairman for a second term and I look forward to working with all of you in what I know will be a winning year in 2010 for the Georgia Republican Party.
Sincerely,
Sue P. Everhart
